Ben's auto is not going honor their work warranties. We took our honda mini van there, because the AC was not blowing cold. They charged us $600 to work on the AC. This included a diagnostic charge, and they charged the system with refrigerant, and changed a few sensors. The AC worked when we picked it up. A month later, it was not working . The AC was blowing very hot , on the driver's side--- which is exactly what it was doing when we first took it to them. We called Ben's Auto , and said, it is not working now. They said "bring it in and we'll look at it. " They called back that afternoon, saying, there is nothing wrong with it , we drove it around a little, and did nothing to it, but its working ok. " I went to get it and owed them $112 for "diagnosing a new problem. " I said, its not a new problem. They said, you brought it in here, with a working AC ... which was different from previous time a month ago. This made NO sense at all. Why would I have bothered to bring it in if the AC was working oK?? Obviously, it must have been malfunctioning or I would not have brought it there ! They had no problem with charging me again. This is just wrong. I am sure it will malfunction again in the next week or so. Don't go there. His word is not good, and his "warranty " is worthless. He has lost my business, and that of the mechanic who recommended him, who apologized to me for that recommendation. His wife tried to soften this by saying, "we discounted the Diagnostic charge to $99 -- usually it is $175." This was further insult -- there is a huge yellow sign in front of their store , advertising AC Check - $99. So how was this a discount ? This is really rude. She felt she needed to justify their action, because she knew it was taking advantage of us.
